Jamie Yuenger

Jamie Yuenger is the founder and CEO of StoryKeep, a company preserving family stories through films and podcasts. With a background in folklore and media, Jamie’s career in public radio changed in 2010 when an interview inspired her to focus on private family stories.


She launched StoryKeep in New York City that year, leading creative teams to produce emotionally rich, historically rooted media. In 2019, her husband, Piet Hurkmans, an award-winning filmmaker, joined, making it a family business.

Jamie collaborates with families to document stories and values, strengthening bonds across generations. StoryKeep is known for its authenticity, high-quality work, and connecting past and future.


Jamie also shares expertise in resilience and legacy through speaking and workshops. She and Piet often inspire and guide families together.

Piet Hurkmans

Piet Hurkmans is the Head of Content for StoryKeep, using his documentary filmmaking expertise to craft compelling human interest stories that explore people's inner worlds and motivations. With decades of experience, Piet investigates human drives and life paths, particularly how people face challenges like pain, loss, and trauma.


In 2009, Piet founded The Needs, a leadership development company where he mentored C-suite leaders and taught storytelling, public speaking, and filmmaking. His work reflects his deep curiosity about what drives people, rooted in his belief that life's events teach and inspire.

Piet holds a Master's in Film & Theatre Science and Spanish Literature from The University of Utrecht. Trained at The Dutch Media Academy, his films have aired on major European TV channels, and his documentary Borderline won The Prix Futura Berlin for Best Documentary.
